A good turnout of cars, with 122 Mark Cooper Jnr and 148 Ian Redden in Mk2 Granadas, the former’s particularly smart, and 522 Tim James in a BMW 320, while the top motor was 384 John Golden’s Daimler DS420.

The Showdown saw 89 Joe Barratt spin hard into 887 Robert Browning on turn 4, as 257 Aldridge led. 648 Smith hooked out 542 Craig Oliver on the home straight, as 74 Hitchcock was spun into the turn 4 fence by 160 Shayn Winsor, kicking off a jacking train with 287 Dean Quinsee weighing into Winsor, before 162 Brett Ellacott, 79 Twell and 190 Bailey all crashed in behind. 239 Carter went on opposite to take out 228 Beasley on turn 2, as 257 Aldridge took the flag. 190 Bailey T-boned 260 Reynolds off turn 4 at the end of the race.

Heat 1 (11 cars): 271, 198, 657, 445, 121, 8, 144, 31, 10, nof.

Heat 2 (11 cars): 271, 445, 121, 30, 8, 144, 10, 31, nof.

Final (9 cars): 31, 8, 445, 30, 144, 121, 10, 271, nof.

271 Jamie Johnson soon got round 31 Stephen Gooding’s outside in heat 1 for the lead, as 657 Neal Smith, 198 Andy Steward and 30 Jamie Bowring had a close battle towards the back of the grid. 445 Graham Boyd and 121 Charlie Schembri overhauled 31 Gooding for second and third, before 30 Bowring spun on turn 1. 271 Johnson built up a big lead, as 198 Steward, 657 Smith and 121 Schembri caught 445 Boyd to fight over second place. Steward eventually got the better of them, with 657 Smith giving chase, but 271 Johnson was too far ahead to be caught and took the win.

Heat 2 again saw 271 Johnson get round 31 Gooding’s outside for the lead, as 198 Steward and 657 Smith again had an early battle, Smith eventually spinning Steward into the back straight fence. 445 Boyd and 121 Schembri were joined towards the end of the race by 30 Bowring and 8 Darren Owen in the fight for second, while 271 Johnson claimed his second win of the afternoon, while 657 Smith was disqualified and loaded for his manoeuvre on Steward.

The Final was headed by 31 Gooding, 445 Boyd giving chase, with the pack catching 271 Johnson for third. Johnson and 198 Steward then clashed on the home straight, causing Johnson to spin, with the pack catching 31 Gooding in the closing laps. 30 Bowring nudged 445 Boyd into turn 3, causing Boyd to go wide, and Bowring moved into second. Into the last bend, Bowring challenged Gooding and clipped him, causing Gooding to spin exiting turn 4. Bowring took the flag, but it was decide to apply “The Malcolm Girling” rule as the leader had been unfairly taken out on the last lap. The result was therefore taken from the previous lap, giving 31 Gooding the win, while 198 Steward was disqualified from the result and 30 Bowring dropped two places.

An excellent turnout of cars, including four Dutch.

435 Ricky Finney headed the first heat, as 337 Dave Willis stuffed 451 Martin Spiers into 45 Nigel Harrhy, sending the latter pair into the turn 3 fence. 165 Roger Bailey and 120 Steve Anderson collected the fence on turn 2, before 435 Finney spun, leading to a pile up on the town bend. H195 Herman Zwerver became the new leader from 41 Robert Broome and 337 Willis, Zwerver going on for the win, while Willis barged Broome wide on turn 4 to take second.

223 Garry Towsend spun early in the second heat on the back straight, causing chaos. 440 Craig Aston led, but he tangled with 307 Tim warwick on the exit of turn 4, allowing 118 Steve Harrison to take over. 150 Mick Sworder made quick work of moving up the gid and was soon running in third behind 118 Harrison and 174 Paul Poulter. Poulter then forced Harrison wide on turn 4 for the lead, Sworder then spinning Harrison down the home straight. At around half distance, Sworder got up Poulter’s inside for the lead, before the race was halted after 191 Josh Smith and 467 Tim Farrell had collected the fence on the Coventry bend. The restart saw 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr behind Sworder for the restart over the last 5 laps. 118 Harrison got in Sworder’s way on the pit on the penultimate lap, allowing Wainman to close up, Sworder then slowing into turn 3 for the last time as Wainman put in the bumper. Sworder’s tactics did not work, and Wainman got up his inside to take the win, with 4 Dan Johnson also passing Sworder to claim second at the line.

Heat 3 started with a big shunt into turn 3, causing 44 Mark Harrhy to spin, as 448 Jason Eaton set the early pace. However, he snaked his car up the back straight, which allowed 169 Billy Johnson and 463 James Morris to pass him, but they then tangled on turn 3. 22 Will Yarrow took over at the front, before 463 Morris and 54 Hayley Parkinson collected the turn 1 fence, with the yellow flags coming out to check on Parkinson. 22 Yarrow headed the restart from H107 Lee Robinson, 2 Paul Harrison and 1 Tom Harris. Yarrow drifted wide allowing 2 Harrison to pass, before 1 Harris got the better of him on turn 3 and 4. Harris continued to lead until the closing stages, when a puff of smoke led to his car catching alight, bringing out the yellow flags. The fire was quickly dealt with, and the restart was over just two laps with H107 Robinson leading 2 Harrison and 22 Yarrow. Into the last bend, Harrison went for a massive dive to just clip Robinson’s rear bumper, and this was just enough to send him into a spin as he exited turn 4, 2 Harrison taking the flag from Yarrow and 12 Michael Scriven.

451 Spiers lead in the consolation was short lived as he spun, handing over to 440 Aston, but he then went wide on the pit bend, allowing 108 Pete Hobbs to pass. 440 Aston came back to retake the lead, before Aston and Hobbs tangled to go into the turn 1 fence along with 496 Neil Holcroft. 120 Anderson also spun into the fence, bringing out the yellow flags. 174 Poulter led the restart, cushioned by three backmarkers from second placed 321 Ed Neachell. A pile up formed on turn 1, as 338 Chris Brocksopp and 41 Broome collected the turn 3 fence. Neachell caught and passed Poulter for the lead, with 1 Harris and 335 Mark Woodhull moving in third and fourth, and they soon overhauled Poulter as well. 1 Harris then caught 321 Neachell, who went wide on turn 2 on the last lap, allowing Harris to dive up his inside. Neachell put in the bumper on the last bend, and they came out of turn 4 side by side, with Harris just beating Neachell to the line for the win.

The Roger Squire Memorial Final started with 502 Richard Wilson clambering over 174 Poulter to hit the pit gate. H195 Zwerver set the pace, as another big pile up formed on turns 3 and 4, bringing out the yellow flags. Zwerver headed the restart, as 169 Johnson hit the turn 3 fence. 463 Morris spun on turn 1, which took out 4 Johnson, before H195 Zwerver spun on the pit bend, with the following cars crashing in. 220 William Hunter collected the fence hard, with the yellow flags coming out again. The restart was led away by 183 Steve Whittle, before 51 Dylan Williams-Maynard barged past. However, the lead was soon taken by 55 Craig Finnikin, while behind a battle over the minor places went on with 515 Wainman, 53 John Lund, 318 Rob Speak and 150 Sworder all involved. Wainman eventually got away from this to challenge 22 Yarrow for third, as 318 Speak went out with a wrecked back wheel. Wainman got the better of Yarrow, before he was joined by Sworder and Harris and they fought over third. Meanwhile 55 Finnikin was well ahead and took the win from 51 Williams-Maynard, while Harris put in the bumper into the last bend on Wainman, but the latter rode out the hit to hold onto third.

The National started with 435 Finney riding over 44 Harrhy on the back straight to hit the turn 3 marker tyre, as 44 Harrhy led the early laps. 108 Hobbs went fencebound on turn 1, before 212 Danny Wainman spun to hit the turn 1 fence with 462 Scott Davids. 451 Spiers also collected the turn 1 fence, as 51 Williams-Maynard took over the lead, before being shoved wide by H107 Robinson into turn 1 to take the lead. A pile up then formed on the pit bend, with 150 Sworder being T-boned by 16 Matt Newson. 515 Wainman shoved the backmaking H414 Arno van Zweiten wide, before getting the better of Williams-Maynard for second. Robinson then went wide round the tangle of cars on the pit bend, as Wainman dived through on the inside for the lead, going on for the win.

Into the last bend, Peall bumpered and spun 391 Smith, and they both drifted wide, allowing 45 Harrhy to nip through on the inside and steal the win.

391 Smith had an early turn 4 spin in the second heat, as 434 Pritchard set the pace. 391 Smith managed to unlap herself, before 262 Camey Dorrell got up Pritchard’s inside to take over. 391 Smith then spun on the pit bend, as 226 Amy Webster came through to barge past Dorrell for the lead. 127 Austin Moore collected the turn 1 armco, as 226 Webster went on for the win, with 411 Fairburn getting the better of 262 Dorrell on the last lap to claim second.

H107 Wolters headed the third heat, before a turn 1 spin caused a pile up, with 45 Harrhy taking over the lead. Wolters got going again to spin 251 Noah Medway, as 313 Josh Emmett slowly reeled in 45 Harrhy’s big lead, but the laps ran out and Harrhy took his second victory of the evening.

45 Harrhy soon found a way up H107 Wolters’ inside for the lead in the Final, as 434 Pritchard and 10 Chloe Jukes ran into the turn 1 fence. 262 Dorrell spun on turn 2, where 183 Charlie Guinchard collected her head-on, pulling a wheel off Dorrell’s car and bringing out the yellow flags. 45 Harrhy led the restart from H107 Wolters and 798 Fin Sargent, as 82 Shay Murphy and 153 Bullock had spins on the home straight. 8 Harris then moved up the places to run in second, before 269 Ben Chalkley shoved past her, with 798 Sargent and 226 Webster in pursuit. Webster then hooked out Sargent on turn 2, Sargent getting stranded on the back straight to bring out the yellow flags again. 45 Harrhy made a bad restart and was slow to get away, allowing 269 Chalkley to take the lead from 226 Webster and 515 Wainman. Wainman took over the lead, as Webster spun on turn 2, and Wainman opened up a gap over the chasing pack to claim the flag.

320 Calan Cooke led the first heat ahead of 88 Luke Grimer and 472 Micky Timbrell. 361 Chris Walden spun 152 Stuart Tointon on turn 4 to cause a chicane, as 88 Grimer closed on Cooke and shoved up his inside into turn 1. 472 Timbrell then barged past Grimer on turn 2 to take over the lead, as 83 Scott McLay hooked out 240 Todd Shales on the back straight. 88 Grimer put in the bumper on 472 Timbrell into turn 1, before Timbrell pulled clear. 320 Cooke headed a slippery heat 2 on a freshly watered track, as both 152 Tointon and 270 David Brookes spun on turn 2. 88 Grimer overhauled 320 Cooke with just 5 laps left to run. 320 Cooke headed the Final, but pulled off after just a lap, handing over to 88 Grimer. 351 Gavin Mason took out 270 Brookes on the home straight, before getting up Grimer’s inside into turn 1. Grimer put in the bumper on the pit bend, before dropping back, with 374 Darren Munford moving into second. 361 Walden spun 30 Thomas Howard on the home straight, before doing likewise to 472 Timbrell on turn 4 in the battle for third. 374 Munford shoved past Mason into turn 1 for the lead, going on for the win, while 218 Richard Smith overhauled Walden in the closing stages to take third

A good turnout of cars, with heat 1 having a dramatic start with 558 Rob Haines rolling out of turn 4, tangling with 617 Scott Mundy as he did so. The red flags came out, with 99 Terry Hall and 617 Mundy spinning on the home straight on the restart. Mundy got going again, only to spin on turn 4 where he was hit by the traffic. 340 Matt Brewster spun into the turn 2 marker tyres, as 520 Ed Kennett soon took the lead, going on to win the race which had a quiet second half.

20 Roger Wilkinson spun on the pit bend as heat 2 got going, before a clash into turn 3 saw 798 Ashley Rumary hit the fence and 115 Mark Gallop get his rear wrecked. 295 Ashley Wallace fenced 555 Aaron Godfrey on the pit bend, before the red flags came out for some on track debris. 41 Dale Fairless led the restart, which saw 340 Brewster and 295 Wallace get forced into the pit bend fence. 617 Mundy hooked out 843 Pete Osborne on turn 2, as 25 Reece Priestley blitzed 295 Wallace off turn 2, starting a jacking train with 366 Paul Knott and 843 Osborne crashing in behind. 228 Rob Barnes took over the lead, as 580 Aaron Oswin and 734 Ben Large clashed on the home straight, with Large collecting the fence. 228 Barnes stayed ahead to take the flag.

Thompson was then spun by 106 Darren Terry-Brand on the back straight, before 320 Luke Hardy took out 92 Jake White on turn 2. White was then attacked by 798 Rumary, as 558 Haines took over the lead. White was in the wars again as 25 Priestely spun him on the home straight, before 467 Sheldon Grimes stuffed 320 Hardy into the fenced 366 Knott on the pit bend. Hardy took revenge and gave Grimes a head-on, before 295 Wallace T-boned Hardy, just as 558 Haines took the win.

The line-up included German 453 Helmut Laumen.

Heat 1 saw 275 Brett Collison lead, before he was passed by 11 Alex Crane and 10 Samantha Holland. 453 Laumen soon pulled off with mechanical problems which unfortunately curtailed his day’s racing. 537 Billy Clarke overhauled 10 Holland for second, the front three staying in that order to the line for Crane to take the win, while a battle over the minor places in the pack throughout the race saw 338 John Payne, 3 Chris Harvey and 310 Sean O’Leary get three abreast at one point.

Heat 2 saw a similar start as in heat 1, only this time 10 Holland passed early leader 275 Ciollison, followed by 11 Crane and 537 Clarke. Clarke clipped Crane into turn 1, as 3 Harvey, 310 O’Leary and 338 Payne joined the front three for a six car train. Clarke then barged past Crane, before Crane nearly collected the turn 3 tyres. 10 Holland went on to take the flag, with Clarke second, while a last bend clash saw 186 George Turiccki clip 338 Payne to nearly spin him exiting turn 4.

11 Crane caught and overhauled 275 Collison for the lead in the Final, as 48 Layton Milsom spun on the pit bend. 537 Clarke and 3 Harvey moved into second and third, but 11 Crane opened up a gap, and remained there to the line for his second win of the day.

77 Steve Davies was out in his new BMW bodied 2 Litre.

Heat 1 started with 188 Marc Gray collecting the fence on turn 2, where he was T-boned by 198 Brandon Osborne. 352 Keith Simmons spun on the pit bend, before 188 Gray spun on turn 2. 66 Dave Bettles set the pace, with 86 Russell Owens giving chase, and he slowly reeled him in. Owens then put in the bumper to spin Bettles on turn 3 for the lead, only for his car to slow in the closing stages, allowing 167 Jimmy Morris to pass and take the win.

66 Bettles led heat 2 away, as 77 Davies spun himself on the pit bend after putting in the bumper on 115 Jack Taylor. 14 Daniel Langley spun 273 Luke Derrick into the marker tyres into turn 1, as 167 Morris spun exiting turn 2. 130 Dean Bateman spun 66 Bettles on turn 4 to take the lead, before he was overhauled by 86 Owens. 486 Bobby Pooley then spun Bateman for second on turn 4, as 198 Osborne took out 14 Daniel Langley, with 115 Taylor also getting spun. 86 Owens' car kept going this time, allowing him to record the win.

130 Bateman soon forced his way up 66 Bettles' inside for the lead in the Final, as the spun 352 Simmons was T-boned by 556 Phil Hampton on turn 2. This brought out the yellow flags, with 86 Owen soon taking the lead on the restart. 66 Bettles spun on the pit bend, as 44 Dee and 273 Derrick collected the fence. 115 Taylor spun 130 Bateman exiting turn 4, allowing 14 Langley to take the lead, as 77 Davies spun 167 Morris out of turn 2, and they tangled to scuff down the back straight fence. 130 Bateman spun 556 Hampton on turn 1, only to get bumpered by 115 Taylor, Bateman then hitting Taylor back to spin him on the back straight. 167 Morris shunted 130 Bateman wide and into the pit bend fence, as 14 Langley kept out of trouble to take the win, while 167 Morris stuffed 556 Hampton over the turn 1 marker tyres after the chequered.

252 Callum Searle led heat 1, as the pack managed to get past newcomer 319 Charlie Mayle on the back straight. 252 Searle opened up a gap over the chasing pack, which was headed by 16 Jimmy Newbon. 216 George Baker then got the better of Newbon, before 217 Harry Smith and Newbon clashed, the latter spinning on turn 3. 114 Ryan Keating clipped the spun Newbon, as 216 Baker and 435 Albert Grant started catching Searle, but the laps ran out with Searle the winner.

776 Dan Roots had an early spin on the pit bend in heat 2, causing 318 Ryan Allgood to also spin, as 252 Searle passed 201 Josh Dodge for the lead. The yellow flags then came out for the spun cars on the pit bend, with Searle heading the restart. However, he was slow to get going, and 201 Dodge got up his inside along with 114 Keating, Searle then pulling off. 16 Newbon spun on turn 2, where he was collected by 435 Grant, as 114 Keating took over the lead. 441 Reece Legrice moved into second, before getting up Keating’s inside round turns 3 and 4, going on for the flag.

The line-up included four Dutch.

Heat 1 doubled up as the White and Yellow Grades Final, with 76 Aaron Cozens leading before tangling with 496 Neil Holcroft on turn 1. 307 Tim Warwick took over, before he spun on turn 1 to get hit by the traffic. 496 Holcroft emerged as the new leader, going on for the win, as 223 Garry Townsend T-boned 58 Colin Eardley on the last bend.

Heat 2 was headed by 76 Cozens, before 45 Nigel Harrhy got up his inside into turn 4. 150 Mick Sworder quickly came up the places before shoving Harrhy wide into the road bend to take over at half distance. 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr T-boned 415 Russell Cooper into the fence on turn 1, as Sworder went on for the flag.

Heat 3 saw 267 Graeme Robson hooked up with 169 Billy Johnson and hitched a ride on his nerf rail round the pit bend and down the back straight, before Johnson wiped him off via a marker tyre. Johnson then tangled with 515 Wainman down the home straight to get scuffed along the fence. Meanwhile, 58 Eardley had set the early pace, before being overhauled by 388 Paul Ford. H226 Pieter van der Iest then hooked up on 169 Johnson’s back bumper, before they untangled via a turn 4 marker tyre. 388 Ford opened up a gap over the chasing star men of 335 Mark Woodhull, 259 Paul Hines and 515 Wainman, and stayed ahead to claim victory.

76 Cozens headed the opening laps of the Final, as 45 Harrhy got round the outside of the chasing pack on the pit bend to gain a number of places, only to then collect the back straight fence. H54 Sierd de Vries then got bundled wide on turn 3 to ride up the fence, where he got stuck to bring out the yellow flags. 76 Cozens led the restart, which had a newly watered track, and the slippery surface caused a tangle into turn 1, with 463 James Morris emerging as the new leader. 462 Scott Davids then took over the lead, before he was passed by 22 Will Yarrow. However, he went wide to bounce off the turn 4 fence, allowing 259 Hines and 335 Woodhull to close, Hines then barging past on turn 4 to go on for victory.

The National started with a pile up on turn 1, with 45 Harrhy and 463 Morris tangling to hit the fence along with 388 Ford. 496 Holcroft led, before the race was halted with 91 Tony Smith in the fence. The restart saw a big push into turn 1, with 174 Paul Poulter coming out as the new leader, leaving 496 Holcroft hooked up with H231 Daniel van Spijker. They managed to limp round to turn 3, bringing out the yellow flags again. On the next restart, 515 Wainman shoved past 335 Woodhull for second, before bumpering 174 Poulter into turn 1 for the lead. 335 Woodhull, 212 Danny Wainman, 191 Joshua Smith and 174 Poulter gave chase, before 515 Wainman suddenly slowed with three laps left to run, allowing 335 Woodhull into the lead from 212 Wainman. 212 Wainman put in the bumper on the last bend, and both he and Woodhull went wide and sideways, Woodhull holding on to take the flag, while 259 Hines took fourth from the lap handicap.

There were three Dutch drivers amongst the line-up.

585 Jamie Bowers led away the first heat, as 548 Martin Lowe took out 283 Gary Allen on turn 2. 866 Bob Griffin soon came up the places to run in second, with 298 Jake Walker in third. 464 Matt Linfield and 917 Nigel Wiles tangled on turn 2, as 866 Griffin took over the lead, going on for the win, with 298 Walker on his tail as they crossed the line.

431 Andy Gibbs headed the second heat, as 788 Stephen Mallinson, 881 Graham Morrison and 26 Gary Ford got into a tangle off turn 4. 364 Mark Plant spun on turn 1, as the red tops got into a tangle leaving 130 Danny Ford and 103 Carl Issitt spun on turn 2. 630 Justin Parker got up Gibbs’ inside for the lead, with 742 Nick Rogers and 81 Mark Clayton giving chase. Rogers then slowed, allowing Clayton to move into second, but he could not catch Parker who claimed victory.

372 Stephen North set the early pace of the third heat, but then spun on turn 4 on the heavily watered track. 158 William Clement inherited the lead, but he was also caught out by the slippery tack and spun on turn 1, causing a pile up. 537 Tom Alsop came out as the new leader, before he was overhauled by 798 Mark Sargent, with 145 Graham Mole moving into second. Mole reeled in Sargent, as Alsop spun on the home straight with a wrecked back wheel. Mole then put in the bumper into turn 1 to send both Sargent and himself wide, and they both lost time, but Sargent was still in the lead. However, he then went out on turn 1 on the next lap, putting Mole into the lead. 871 Mark Simpson then T-boned 259 Simon Farrington into turn 1 in the battle for second, and they collected the stationary 798 Sargent. 145 Mole went on for the win, while the recovered 871 Simpson went for an unsuccessful last bend lunge at 886 Chris Bradbury for third.

The consolation started with 728 Carl Pilkington T-boning 449 Mark Dorrill up the home straight, the pack managing to avoid them, as 987 Sam Brigg took the lead. A pile up formed on turn 1 in the fence, with 579 Neil Clark clambering over 884 John Fenwick’s front wheel. The yellow flags came out, with 987 Brigg leading the restart, but he was put under pressure by 732 Daz Kitson and eventually drifted wide to hit the fence on turn 1. 732 Kitson took over, going on for the flag.

145 Mole and 630 Parker had early spins on turn 4 in the Final, as 158 Clement led the field round. 995 Michael Lund spun on turn 4, while 362 Dave Harley and 866 Griffin tangled to hit the fence at the opposite end of the track. The yellow flags then came out with a loose wheel on the back straight, 158 Clement still leading for the restart. 710 Brett Townsend spun on the road bend, forcing the following cars wide causing 380 Steven Cayzer to ride up the fence. 881 Morrison took over the lead, but he tangled and spun with 283 Allen on turn 2. 377 Daz Shaw emerged as the new leader, as 26 Ford spun 732 Kitson on turn 2. 401 Barry Goldin moved up the places and shoved past 377 Shaw with 5 laps to run for the chequered.

A huge field for the National started with the white graders getting into a mess on the pit bend, but they sorted themselves out. 377 Shaw collected the fence on turn 1 to ride up it, before 449 Dorrill spun on turn 1, where he was collected by 597 Barry Clow, causing a pile up. A turn 4 marker tyre was hit onto the track, which brought out the yellow flags. 372 North led the restart, but he was soon passed by 145 Mole. A turn 4 shunt caused 184 Aaron Vaight to run into the already fenced 728 Pilkington, as Mole stayed ahead to record his second win of the evening, while 401 Goldin got up to fourth from the lap handicap.

Guinchard then stuffed Smith wide round turn 4 and they scuffed round the fence, as 287 Wilkinson took the win.

45 Jake Harrhy led the second heat, before he was passed by 313 Josh Emmett, followed by the pack. 434 Mia Pritchard spun in the pack on turn 2, with 180 Courtney Witts and 82 Shay Murphy also spinning, the yellow flags coming out to check on Murphy. The restart was led by 287 Wilkinson from 183 Guinchard, as 153 Georgina Bullock T-boned 8 Catherine Harris into the turn 1 fence. Into the last bend, Guinchard launched at Wilkinson to shove him wide, but Wilkinson kept control and took his second win of the evening.

330 Whitehead was spun into the home straight fence as heat 3 got underway, with 45 Harrhy the leader. 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr Jnr and 269 Ben Chalkley tangled to hit the turn 1 fence, bringing out the yellow flags to check on the latter. 45 Harrhy led the restart, as 8 Harris spun 153 Bullock on turn 2, Bullock then getting T-boned by 515 Wainman. Bullock got going again, before being spun by 134 Sophie Maynard on the home straight, Maynard and 180 Wits then closing on 45 Harrhy. With a couple of laps to run, Maynard shunted Harrhy wide , Harrhy then coming back to bumper Witts in the battle for second on turn 2. 134 Maynard took the flag, while Harrhy lost third on the last bend to 202 Knight.

82 Murphy collected the fence on turn 1 as the Kev Sutton Memorial Final got underway, with the following pack crashing in behind, including 798 Sargent, 202 Knight and 152 Charlie Sworder. The race was stopped, with 153 Bullock leading the restart, before she was passed by 242 Nickolls. 391 Smith then caught Nickolls, putting in the bumper on turn 3 before spinning him on turn 4. 180 Witts gave chase, and managed to shove past Smith on turn 3. Into the last bend, Smith lunged at Witts and they both went wide, with 183 Guinchard also putting in the bumper, only for 515 Wainman to nip through on the inside to steal the win.

The restart saw just 5 laps left to run with 23 Pearce leading 371 Bloss, 713 Beaumont and 409 Carl Pears. On the drop of the green, Bloss put in a good hit on Pearce to pass him on turn 1, only for Pearce to come back and stuff Bloss wide on turn 3 and retake the lead. Beaumont to lead then overhauled Pearce, Pearce putting in the bumper into turn 3, and they both went wide with Beaumont hitting the wires, allowing Bloss up the inside. Pearce gave chase, but Bloss was just too far ahead and took the title, while the battle for third saw 713 Beaumont, 171 O’Dell, 415 Jamie Blackman and 409 Pears all involved, with a bundle off turn 2 forcing Beaumont and Blackman into the wires, allowing 171 O’Dell to come home third. 71 Steve O’Dell put in a last bend hit on the recovered 415 Blackman to take fourth.

335 Herve was hooked out by 229 Carter in the first heat, before Carter spun on turn 4. 514 Danny Orr soon led, before 30 Richard Dawson forced his way up the inside on turn 1 to take over. 653 Gemma Rainer hit the fence on turn 3, as 397 Andy Cullen took over the running. 71 O’Dell shoved past, before a big turn 4 shunt saw 30 Dawson emerge back in the lead. 323 Rigby then stuffed 30 Dawson into turn 3 and over the marker tyres, Dawson taking the bend on two wheels and they both collected the turn 4 fence. 713 Beaumont took over the lead, going on for the win, as 75 Scott Hughes collected the turn 3 fence in the closing stages.

161 Smith lined up behind 323 Rigby in heat 2, with Rigby putting on the brakes down the back straight from the start. Smith rammed him a couple of times, Rigby then pulling off, as 514 Orr hit the back straight fence into turn 3. 713 Beaumont then spun 161 Smith on the home straight, as 229 Carter set the pace. 161 Smith tangled with 111 Dan Abbott to go into the turn 2 wires, where 323 Rigby rammed him before pulling off again. 385 Kevin Thurlow took over the lead, as 340 Freestone spun 229 Carter on turn 4. 23 Pearce collected the home straight fence, as Beaumont again spun 161 Smith, Smith ramming Beaumont as they got going again. 521 Shaun Parker led the first heat, with 42 Niall Irwin leading the charge from the yellow grade. Irwin soon moved into second, as a tangle in the pack saw 311 Micky Fitzsimmons and 442 Paul Young hit the fence on turn 2. This brought out the yellow flags, with 521 Parker leading the restart from 42 Irwin and 61 Jamie Stickland. Stickland got up Irwin’s inside, with 117 Jon Dunn and 332 Jamie Pryor joining the leaders for a close battle. 61 Stickland clipped Parker into turn 3, before tangling with Irwin to spin on turn 4, allowing 117 Dunn into second. However, 521 Parker remained ahead, going on for the flag.

686 Michael Humphrey led heat 2 away, leaving 521 Parker to battle with 332 Pryor and 42 Irwin for second. Parker then dropped back, as Irwin and Pryor reeled in Humphrey, with Irwin getting up Humphrey’s inside round turns 3 and 4, followed by Pryor. This order then remained to the finish, Irwin taking the win.

682 James Jenkins headed the opening laps of the Final, before being passed by 686 Humphrey. 332 Pryor was going well, until forced to retire with a flapping bonnet, as 145 Mike Richardson, 42 Irwin and 182 Lee Jordan got involved in the battle for second, allowing 686 Humphrey to pull clear. The Last Chance race was led away by 768 Danny McSweeney, as a pile up formed on the pit bend, with 326 Lynn being wrecked by 209 Tom Waller, before he was blitzed by 321 Kieron Fry. 390 Dave Gibson attacked 322 Thomas Fox on the home straight, before 726 Kalin Dawe fenced 981 Patrick Kisteman on the road bend. 326 Lynn weighed hard into 147 de Roubaix on the pit bend, as 577 Alfie Lee took over the lead. 898 Andy Battle then shoved past him into turn 1, only for Lee to come back and retake the lead. 898 Battle then took the lead once again, spinning 515 Gareth Flatters into the pile up at the end of the home straight. 384 John Golden hit 726 Dawe off turn 2, before being fenced by 221 Justin Riley on turn 1, the pair of them bouncing off the armco before Riley spun Golden into the fence off turn 2. 898 Battle stayed ahead to take the flag, with 577 Lee and 221 Riley also claiming their places in the Supreme Championship. A post race check saw the result revised, with 577 Lee announced as the winner.

The draw for the Supreme Championship grid placed 116 Mark-Jan Klok and fellow Dutchman 945 Jeroen Hoes on the front row, with 2 Georgie Lee and 697 Daniel de Hoop on row 2. 331 Jason Jackson would have been on row 3, but mechanical problems as he lined up saw him get sidelined, and he failed to race all evening. 116 Klok set the early pace, as 266 Callum Hall fenced 39 Pete Carmoy on the pit bend. 239 Carter went on opposite to head-on 188 John Reeves near the pit gate, as 313 Craig Osborne took over the lead. 577 Lee went on opposite to weigh into 266 Hall, as 173 Steven Reynolds blitzed 116 Klok. 577 Lee further attacked Hall with a T-bone, as 204 Charlie King was spun up the infield blocks on turn 1. 239 Carter gave 313 Osborne a glancing head-on, before 173 Reynolds gave Carter a head-on in front of the starter’s rostrum. This caused a pile up as the pack came round, with 313 Osborne spinning. 239 Carter gave 22 Vincent a head-on on the pit bend, before 516 Carl Gould ran into Carter. Carter then attacked 318 Wilf Speak, before taking a head-on from 221 Riley. 549 Phil Smith went on opposite to head-on 348 Sonny Sherwood, before backing off to give him another one. 328 Dan Lathan emerged as the new leader at around the halfway point, before 59 Steve Bolton clipped the spun 318 Speak on the home straight to get the back of his car airborne and spin into the fence. 173 Reynolds went on opposite to hit 59 Bolton, before he was attacked by 577 Lee, Reynolds having a flash fire. 577 Lee gave 22 Vincent a head-on, as 382 Jack Foster Jnr started closing on 328 Lathan in the closing stages, but the laps ran out with Lathan taking the title, Foster then fencing him on the pit bend after the chequered.

Consolation 1 saw an early pile up on turn 2, before a jacking train formed on the pit bend with 243 Jamie Millen getting blitzed by 512 Lewis Harvey, with 132 Robert James, 514 Charlie Taylor and 232 Justin Pollard all crashing in behind. 169 James Rushton also ran into the train, as 96 Stu Palmer went on opposite to T-bone 492 Dean Harper on turn 4. 741 Charlie Daniels steamed 32 Alan Wombwell, before 96 Palmer collected Wombell off turn 4. 599 Gray went on opposite to hit 96 Palmer, before giving him a T-bone, as 10 Ben Collins stuffed 318 Tony Citro into 492 Harper, also on the pit bend. 318 Citro T-boned 10 Collins in revenge, before being collected by 132 James, as 527 Michael Norman took the win, and the only recorded finisher. 132 James gave him a head-on under the red flags on the pit bend.

The second consolation started with 673 Darren Fendley tangling with 617 Carl Overy in the pack to get T-boned down the back straight, as 41 Paul Pentecost attacked 326 Lynn on the pit bend. 617 Overy hit Pentecost into turn 1, only for Pentecost to then spin Overy exiting turn 2. 321 Fry went on opposite to hit the spun 399 Jonny Atkin on turn 4, Fry continuing to lurk on the pit bend before accidentally hitting team-mate 421 Nigel Riley. Fry then gave 384 Golden a head-on on the pit bend, with 41 Pentecost also attacking Golden, as 721 Dan Clarke claimed the win.

The Final saw a few non-qualifiers grid, which started with a home straight crash in which 945 Hoes blitzed 160 Winsor. A pile up formed on the home straight, as 321 Fry was hit by 439 Danny Sutton. The field crashed in, with 617 Overy blitzing 421 Riley in the pile up, Overy then going on opposite to hit 41 Pentecost, stuffing him into 439 Sutton. 17 Kyle Overy had a quick fire, as 321 Fry attacked 617 Overy. 382 Foster weighed into 726 Dawe, before he came under fire from 321 Fry. Foster then hit 898 Battle near the pit gate, before Fry again hit Foster, this time with a T-bone. All the remaining runners were now caught up in the turn 4 blockage, as 697 de Hoop gave 549 Smith a head-on. 382 Foster got in a revenge hit on 321 Fry, as 617 Overy again hit 421 Riley, before collecting 204 King. Overy then went on opposite to hit 321 Fry and stuff him into the pile up, from which 549 Smith emerged as the leader from 148 Ian Redden. On the next lap, 549 Smith ran into 318 Speak in the pile up, with Redden also getting stuck. 433 Smith crashed into Redden, before 549 Smith forced his way through to take the win.

The Allcomers saw an early turn 2 pile up, while at the other end of the track 981 Kisteman and 147 de Roubaix hit the turn 4 armco, starting a pit bend pile up. 239 Carter again went on opposite to give 746 Tony Jarvis a head-on, as 154 Lawton went on opposite to head-on 147 de Roubaix. The pile up grew to block the track, with 328 Lathan trying to force a way through, but he got stuck to take a hit from 39 Pete Carmoy. 221 Riley went on opposite to attack 239 Carter, before 768 Danny McSweeney met 32 Alan Wombwell in a solid turn 3 head-on, stopping both cars dead. 717 Jack Tuffen T-boned 439 Sutton, as the red flags came out due to the total track blockage. 717 Tuffen and 384 Golden continued to DD on the pit bend, with the result being declared as void.

Thirteen drivers managed to get back on track for the Accumulator, which started with 116 Klok fencing 313 Osborne on the pit bend, as 17 Overy set the pace. 945 Hoes was collected by 599 Gray, who was blitzed by 981 Kisteman on the pit bend, with 549 Smith weighing into Hoes. 321 Fry fenced 116 Klok on opposite on turn 4, as the race turned into a DD. 321 Fry and 328 Lathan met head-on, the latter then doing likewise with 221 Riley, before 321 Fry blitzed Lathan. 925 Aaron Preece and Lathan then had a head-on, before Fry T-boned Preece. Lathan then gave the now stationary Fry a head-on on the home straight, which fired Fry up again, and the pair had another head-on on the pit bend from which Lathan did not back off, leaving Fry the winner.

Turiccki exchanged bumper hits with Sargent before making the break to take the win, as 260 Anthony Winters spun on turn 2.

Heat 2 was led away by 366 Richie Kemp, before 145 Graham Mole got up his inside on turn 3 to build up a good lead. 376 Darren Seneschall and 19 Martin Ford both had spins on turn 4, as 145 Mole maintained his lead to take a decisive win.

842 Ben Kerry tangled with a spinning 743 Lee Armstrong on the pit bend early in the consolation. 372 Stephen North clambered over another car in the pack down the home straight to spin out, as 987 Sam Brigg set the pace. 537 Alsop and 969 Bart Smeets then tangled on the home straight, with 987 Brigg clipping them, allowing 823 Sam Wagner to go through on the pit bend, and he went on for victory.

449 Mark Dorrill led the Final, as 130 Danny Ford was spun into the home straight fence. 871 Mark Simspon spun into the home straight infield blocks, before the red flags came for the spun 81 Mark Clayton. 431 Gibbs led the complete restart, as 225 Tony Blackburn careered into the pit bend fence with broken steering. 124 Ollie Skeels then ran into Blackburn, bringing out the red flags to check on him. 449 Dorrill led the next restart, before he was caught by 448 John Wright and 995 Michael Lund. They overhauled Dorrill, with Wright taking the lead and the chequered.

449 Dorrill led the National before he was bundled wide by 136 Kyle Taylor, allowing 995 Lund to lead. The red flags then came out following a pit bend tangle between 724 Thomas Pell and 260 Winters. 987 Brigg led the complete restart, as 145 Mole and 969 Smeets spun on turn 1. 995 Lund reeled in Brigg, before putting in the bumper only to spin and T-bone him on turn 4. 380 Steven Cayzer inherited the lead as a result with just two laps to run. However, Cayzer then tangled with 987 Brigg on turn 2, and 186 Turiccki shot past to claim his second win of the evening.

Heat 2 (22 cars): 95, 482, 7, 242, 532, 602, 483, 246, 99, 24.

Midland Championship (21 cars): 376, 482, 7, 23, 95, 483, 419, 532, 99, 279.

The line-up included Scotsman 8 Chris Cuthbert.

Heat 1 was headed by 811 Graeme Parrott, as 483 Sarah Cooper spun on turn 4, where she was collected head-on by 7 Glenn Salmon. 24 Ben Styles spun into the turn 3 fence, as 602 Dale Fewings took over the lead, going on for the win.

99 Christopher Phillips led heat 2 away, with a very dusty start due to the cement dust put down on oil from the preceding Grand Prix Midget race. 8 Cuthbert found a way up Phillips’ inside to take over, before he was overhauled by 811 Parrott. 66 Kevin Ferris spun on turn 4, as 95 John Saunders caught Parrott, the latter then going wide on turn 4 for Saunders to take over. 8 Cuthbert then got the better of Parrott to move into second, before 482 Jason Cooper took out Parrott on turn 4. Cooper then overhauled Cuthbert, with 7 Salmon in tow, and they chased after 95 Saunders, but he stayed ahead to record victory.

The Midland Championship saw 432 Michael Robinson soon hit the turn 1 fence, as the leading 811 Parrott was soon passed by 66 Ferris. 602 Fewings then put in the bumper on Ferris into turn 3 to take over, only to then spin on turn 2, where he was collected by 8 Cuthbert off the bend, with 279 Phil Proctor also spinning. The race was halted with 95 Saunders now leading for the restart, but he was soon passed by 515 Jordan Aylward. 419 Chris Capon spun on turn 4, as 482 Cooper and 376 Stephen Jackson moved up the order to soon run in second and third. Cooper then got up 515 Aylward’s inside, only for Aylward to whack him hard into turn 3, sending Cooper into the fence. 376 Jackson took over the lead, as 482 Cooper recovered to chase Aylward, before stuffing him into the turn 1 fence in revenge. Aylward did a spot of lurking and attempted to chase after Cooper as he passed him, but broken steering forced Aylward to retire to the infield. 532 Bobby Davis Jnr fenced 279 Proctor in the closing stages, as 376 Jackson was too far ahead for Cooper to catch, and he went on to take the title.

Heat 1 was headed by 955 Harry-Lee Wills from 73 Trevor Sloggatt and 42 John Townshend. 19 Miles Rudman and 65 John Hudson then clashed on turn 3, bringing out the yellow flags. On the restart, 6 Ian Hales quickly moved from fourth to second round the outside, before diving up 955 Wills' inside for the lead. 66 Martin Heath moved into second to give chase, but 6 Hales opened up a gap to take a convincing win.

69 Jonathan Arnold suffered an early spin in heat 2, as 42 Townshend led ahead of 62 Stuart Radley and 73 Sloggett. 26 Peter Andrews spun on turn 4, as again 6 Hales came up the placings, before going round the front runners on the outside to take the lead. 21 Sean Smith had a late spin on turn 4, as 6 Hales claimed his second win.

182 Michael Walsmley spun in the third heat on turn 4, as 62 Radley headed 955 Wills. Radley then spun 360º on the back straight, handing the lead to Wills, before 19 Rudman got up his inside around half distance. 66 Heath then caught the leaders and moved into second before getting up Rudman’s inside, going on for the flag.

A big field for the Final saw 64 Tim Hudson spin on the back straight, the taffic managing to miss him, with the yellow flags coming out. 955 Wills led the complete restart, before he was overhauled by 123 Chris Prior. 31 Peter Spicer spun on the home straight for another stoppage, with 123 Prior getting away on the restart. 73 Sloggett spun on the back straight onto the infield, as 62 Radley spun on turn 4. 6 Hales came up the order, running in third by halfway, before overhauling 955 Wills for second. 19 Rudman spun on turn 1, as 6 Hales started closing the gap on 123 Prior, but the laps ran out, with Prior the victor.

Heat 2 (12 cars): 15, 31, 69, 17, 32, 77, nof.

June Cochrane Cup Final (14 cars): 15, 10, 76, 34, 16, 17, 77, 31, 35, 37.

The line-up included 1970s/80s National Hot Rod star man 3 Leon Smith, making a return to the ovals and his debut in the Midgets.

Heat 1 was headed by 35 Peter Bourn, as 32 Daniel Pooley had an early spin on turn 3. 8 Peter Dorrell then briefly took the lead before slowing with mechanical problems, allowing 76 Allen Herbert to go round his outside for the front spot. 31 Jonathan Pooley came up the grid to lead the charge, and he broke away from the pack with 15 Marc de Land in tow. They reduced the gap on 76 Herbert, and found a way up his inside round turns 1 and 2. 31 Pooley went on for the win with 15 de Land right on his tail at the line.

Heat 2 suffered a couple of false starts, with both 23 Clifford Bunn and then 16 Andrew Bilby failing to get going, and they retired to the infield along with 10 David Bonsor due to a piece of loose bodywork. This left just 9 cars to contest the race, with 35 Bourn heading the field. 32 Pooley had a big spin on the back straight, before 35 Bourn pulled onto the infield. 31 Pooley and 69 Darren Rycroft were then side by side as they battled for the lead, with 15 de Land soon catching them. Rycroft then dropped back, leaving de Land to chase Pooley, before 74 Chris Neal dumped a load of oil on the track, suddenly making things very slippery. This allowed de Land to get the better of Pooley, and he lead the last couple of slower laps to take the flag.

The June Cochrane Cup Final saw 35 Bourn again lead them away. The field included 3 Smith, who had missed heat 2 due to dropping a valve in the first race, and had actually changed the engine in time for the last race. 69 Rycroft retired to the infield, but he clipped 31 Pooley as he did so, and Pooley spun on turn 4. 76 Herbert got on Bourn’s outside for a number of laps, with 17 Jack Hodges and 16 Bilby then joining the front pair. 15 de Land then sliced through the quartet to move into the lead, as 3 Smith spun on turn 1. 15 de Land then maintained his lead to the line for his second win of the afternoon.

Williams challenged Wainman into turn 3, but spun herself, as 12 Scriven went on to take the flag.

64 Sykes and 355 Andrew tangled early in heat 2 on turn 4, as 112 Marson led. 12 Scriven and 26 Williams tangled into turn 1, with Williams riding up the fence before her car fell onto its side in a most gentle rollover. The race was halted, with 112 Marson leading the restart from 211 Wainman, and she soon got up his inside down the back straight. 12 Scriven then bumpered Wainman, before getting up her inside on the back straight. 384 Kembery spun on turn 4, as 12 Scriven took his second win, with 298 Tom Spencer getting the better of Wainman for second.

160 Nick Blach soon led the Final ahead of 12 Scriven and 211 Wainman. 324 Shaun Bowman rode over 384 Kembery’s wheel on turn 4, before 269 Mike Lomax fenced 26 Williams on turn 1. 355 Andrew collected the turn 4 fence, before 298 Spencer stuffed 275 Terry Hawkins into 384 Kembery on turn 3, and they went into the fence. 12 Scriven overhauled 160 Blach to take a hattrick of wins.

384 Kembery set the early pace in the National, before 26 Williams aerofoil became dislodged into turn 1. The resulting tangle of cars round the turn saw her aerofoil come off, before being run over by 211 Wainman. 298 Spencer took over the lead, before the race was cautioned with 115 Liam Roche coming to a halt on the exit of turn 4. 298 Spencer headed 175 Karl Hawkins, 275 Hawkins, 179 Richard Arrowsmith and 12 Scriven for the restart, and he got away to take the win, leaving the latter three to fight over third to the last bend.

275 Collison soon got past 5 Gould to lead the Final, before 11 Crane got up Collison’s inside to take over. 3 Chris Harvey went into the turn 3 fence, as 537 Billy Clarke moved into second. 280 Stonehouse headed the chasing pack, as 537 Clarke took over the lead with a dive up 11 Crane’s inside on turns 1 and 2. The front runners got into close formation, with 537 Clarke leading 11 Crane, 280 Stonehouse, 928 Dave Leech and 30 Martin Codling, Stonehouse then getting the better of Crane. This formation got spread out a bit, with Clarke getting away, before Stonehouse reeled him back in. Into the last bend, Stonehouse nearly got up Clarke’s inside, but the latter kept ahead to take the chequered.

Heat 1 started with 846 Ashley England spinning on the exit of turn 4, as 91 Brett Constable led the field round. 197 Jay Goodwin then clambered over 55 Courtney Finnikin, before 749 Ben Aimson went hard into the fence on turn 1 for a stoppage. 48 Ryan Morgan took over the lead on the restart, before the yellow flags came out again with 197 Goodwin in the plating. 578 Mark Gibbs overhauled 55 Finnikin for second on the next restart, before 242 Ben Bate spun on turn 1, where he was T-boned by 55 Finnikin. 578 Gibbs overhauled 48 Morgan and went on for the win, while 768 Tom Adcroft and 115 Michael Green only got past Morgan on the last lap for second and third.

A clash at the start of heat 2 on turn 4 saw 341 Drew Lammas ride over 59 Lee Dimmick to tip up and they collected the fence on the exit of the turn, with 283 Gary Allen and 48 Morgan then crashing into them. The race was halted, with 91 Constable heading the restart. 242 Bate spun on turn 2, before 700 Adam Rubery and 527 James Riggall tangled down the home straight to spin out. 846 England half spun to crash into 749 Aimson and 560 Luke Wrench, bringing out the yellow flags again. The restart was led away by 844 Darren Phillips ahead of 91 Constable and 541 Luke Phillips, before 115 Green came up the places to run in second in the closing laps. A pile up then formed on the very last lap involving 48 Morgan, 541 Phillips and 91 Constable on turn 2, with 55 Finnikin also crashing in. The rest of the field avoided this and completed the last three-quarters of a lap, but the yellow flags came out, for a restart over just one lap. This saw 115 Green hit 844 Phillips wide on the last bend to take the win.

55 Finnikin led the opening laps of the Final, as 541 Phillips, 242 Bate and 555 David Bale clashed on turn 2. 55 Finnikin then half spun, allowing 844 Phillips to take over the lead, with the yellow flags coming out for the fenced cars on turn 2. 55 Finnikin spun on the back straight causing another pile up, with 101 Kelvyn Whalley running hard into her. The stoppage saw everyone eventually climb from their cars, with Finnikin walking into the awaiting ambulance, while Whalley was walking with a limp – we wish both drivers a speedy recovery. The restart saw 768 Adcroft and 115 Green overhaul 844 Phillips for first and second, before the yellow flags came out again for the fenced 563 Keith Walding on the back straight. Adcroft headed the restart from Green and 921 Jack Aldridge, before Green shoved up Adcroft’s inside on turns 3 and 4 and he pulled clear. Green went on for the win, while 700 Adam Rubery won the battle over the remaining distance with 921 Aldridge for third.

The National saw a depleted field grid, with 242 Bate heading 48 Morgan, before Morgan got up his inside, only for Bate to put in the bumper into turn 3. Morgan then retook the lead on the next bend, as 197 Goodwin spun on turn 4. 527 Riggall moved up the places and passed Bate for second. 341 Lammas and 581 Daniel Fellows tangled exiting turn 4 to spin onto the infield, as 527 Riggall took over the lead. 817 Tim Bailey took up second place, before 768 Adcroft shoved past, only for Bailey to put in the bumper into turn 3 and push Adcroft wide to go back into second. Adcroft then T-boned 242 Bate into the fence on turn 4, with 921 Aldridge also getting caught up, bringing out the yellow flags. The restart saw 527 Riggall maintain his lead to the line, while 700 Rubery bumpered past 560 Wrench to come home third.
